Wessex Conservation Forum is a new initiative designed to support biodiversity conservation within the region of Wessex, encompassing the southern English counties of Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and western Hampshire. The aim of the Forum is to foster communication between people involved in conservation within the region, including reserve managers, wardens, land owners and policy makers. In particular, the Forum aims to strengthen links between scientific research and conservation practice, by disseminating relevant research findings to those involved in conservation management. The Forum is coordinated by staff of the School of Conservation Sciences, Bournemouth University. Participation in Forum activities is open to all. The Forum primarily operates through organising regular meetings focusing on different aspects of conservation. Information is disseminated via this website, and via an email distribution list. If you would like to be kept informed of future events, or have suggestions regarding suitable themes for meetings, please email Kathy Hodder or Adrian Newton. |
